Coveting The Coveted
If you love fashion and photography, you will love the new website, The Coveted. Up-and-comer photographer, Jake Rosenberg, takes us through the closets of some of the fashion elite, like the Fashion Directors for Teen Vogue, Harper's Bazzar, and W Magazine. Of course, I couldn't help but pick out some of my favorite shoe pics.

Guess Who Revealed
Did you make a guess as to which female celebrity wore these unique shoes to the Critics Choice Awards last week? Well if you guessed Keri Hilson, you were right.
I can't tell if they look better or worse from farther away.

Gwyneth Paltrow
I don't always agree with her fashion choices, but I do love that Gwyneth takes some risks, especially with her shoes.
Here she paired a simple gray dress with some cutout sandals.
This look isn't new for her.Neutral Dress. Bright Shoes.
Classic Dress. Edgy Shoes.
Casual Clothes. Bold Shoes.
My point is, the woman likes to experiment with shoes and is not afraid to take some chances...and I love it!

Mandy Moore
Here is Mandy Moore at the U.K. premiere of Tangled last night. I think she has accessorized her LBD well - I love pairing colorful shoes with black or neutral colored dresses. While I love the color of her shoes, I don't know if I like the over all style of her shoes.
Maybe it's just the sheen of the satin, but the shape of the toe of the shoe makes her foot look a little funny, don't you think? Maybe I could just do without the platform.
Trend: Color Blocking
Color blocking has been a major trend in fashion for the last few seasons. Now we are seeing the same trend in our shoes.

We saw lots of bows at the Golden Globes, but they aren't just for dresses and presents. Sport some bows on your shoes.

Read This
If you are obsessed with shoes like I am, you should read the Dreaming in Fashion blog post: Brian Atwood - The New Louboutin?
She makes a great point, but, to me, Louboutin will always been a classic. But how can you resist these:

Fantasy vs. Reality
I bought a great pair of pumps yesterday and I couldn't help but be reminded of YSL's famous pumps. That got me thinking, there are a lot of less expensive look-a-likes out there, which is definitely more in my budget. Here are a few:

This has nothing to do with shoes, but I loved watching all the fashion choices of the actors and actresses walking down the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Here are my favorites from last night:

Britney Spears
Have you heard Britney's new single? I don't think I like it, but songs like this have a tendency to grow on me after a few listens. What do you think?
Anyways, this isn't about her music, this is about her choice in footwear. I'm not impressed.
Anyways, this isn't about her music, this is about her choice in footwear. I'm not impressed.
These pumps look like something you would get at Target. I mean no disrespect because I love Target and their clothes and shoes...but this is Britney, b*tch! She can afford any shoes she wants, and she chose these.
These boots aren't terrible. But they do look worn (again, the girl can afford some new shoes), and I don't think these are the kinds of boots I would have paired with a short blue dress. Then she wears them again and again.
Maybe I just expect more from celebrities these days, but her shoes just look cheap. They look like something I could afford, which isn't saying much, and I know Brit can afford much more than this.

Do you think Christian Louboutin will adopt me? He is just the cutest man. And the French accent doesn't hurt either.

Let the Sun Shine
As a California girl, I don't handle the cold weather very well. Since Monday, the temperatures here in Dallas haven't gotten above freezing. Fingers crossed that today they will! It's times like these, and in the dead of summer, when I wonder why I ever left Cali. Needless to say, my mind is on the sun...and warmth. I'm already day dreaming of some outfits for the warmer weather.
These simple espadrille inspired wedges from Christina Louboutin would be perfect with a flowy sun dress or a pair of white jeans.
Another espadrille-type wedge with a cute print. I love the navy/white combo on just about anything, and these sandals are no exception.
I have been coveting these wooden wedge sandals, and their less expensive counterpart, for some time now. I could see them being paired with anything from a short skirt to a pair of capris.

If I could, I would add all of these to my shoe collection, and I would be ready for Spring & Summer.
What are your go to warm-weather shoes?

Zoe Saldana
What do you think of Zoe Saldana's shoes that she wore on the red carpet this week?
Here's a better view:
I love the little embellishment on the toes. And the color is perfect for her grey dress.

Oooo Sparkles
I was watching Ellen today with Nicki Minaj as the musical guest. She looked and sounded great, but the one thing that stood out to me (other than her hair) were her glittered booties. She paired them with a cute, yet fairly 'plain' (for Nicki Minaj) LBD. I don't know if I could pull of sparkle booties, but I might have to try it to find out.
You can check out the video of her performance to see what I am talking about.

Nine West Fall 2011
The fashion world has always been forward thinking. It is hardly 2011, and most of the major fashion lines have already designed their Fall 2011 lines. Over the next few weeks I will post some of the major fashion lines new fall shoe collections. Today we will start with Nine West.
If I had $350 million...
Have you bought a lotto ticket yet? The Mega Millions Jackpot is up to a cool $350+ million. What would you do with that kind of money? Me: pay off student loans, give some money to parents & charity, buy a house...or two, a new car...or two, and then maybe if any is left over, a pair of the most expensive shoes in the world.
Nice, huh? The Stuart Weitzman Tanzanite heels will run you $2,000,000. But, you know, if I wanted to wear 185 carats of tanzanite and 28 carats of diamonds, I don't think I want them to be on my feet.Monday, January 3, 2011
